HOLLOW WORLD MUD
NEW COMMANDS AND NEW MUD BEHAVIOR
----------------------------------------------
January 28th, 2008
Loaded backup from January 19th for all Houses and Save-rooms.
January 22nd, 2008
Solved "corpse" bug created by consume timer where a corpse would be
consumed in only one tick.
January 21st, 2008
Increased consume timer to 5 MUD-days.
Added Houses and "Small Save" rooms to list of rooms imune to consume timer.
Corrected news years from 2007 to 2008 :P
January 20th, 2008
Implemented consume timer in objects, meaning that objects left on the
ground will eventually be consumed by that evil horde of maggots.
I may have forgotten some details, so I expect some bugs to appear other than
the maggots.
January 9th, 2008 - continuation
Solved "2nd autospawn go to Void" bug.
Removed "Autospawn" from the students. Too easy. Put it on some other mobs.
Adjusted EXP factor to continue progressing until remort 250.
Added damage improvement based on the remort's EXP factor.
January 9th, 2008
After a small period offline due to a sneaky bug, the MUD is back
with "Autospawn". Only some mobs so far got it, namely the so called
"students". Autospawn makes the mob respawn right after being killed,
reducing waits for resets when all what's needed is experience.
January 4th, 2008 - continuation
QPs are no longer given to those remorting as Paladins.
QPs are now given at certain remorts. See HELP REMORT.
January 4th, 2008
Remort limit kicked up to 250.
"Forget" skills back online with modifications. See HELP REMORT.
Fixed "show stats" (imms only).
December 16th, 2007
Autoquest has been put on-hold. Instead, work will be focused on
revamping the remort system.
You may also send ideas to "hw AT carassonet DOT org"
December 4th, 2007
The MUD's webpage has been put back online.
December 1st, 2007
After a long development freeze, the MUD will start moving forward
again as Hrimhari takes charge of maintaining the MUD. His first
project will probably be implementing Autoquest. Post any suggestions
to the general board.
November 15th, 2005
Changing the spell casting behaviour for staves. If you find a BUG,
please report the usual way. No complains. This change is due to
abuse. Usual response/punishment for whining applies.
July 19th, 2004
(FIX) Rangers can meditate on forests again.
July 16th, 2004
The linkless exploit is finaly fixed. This should be the last news
entry for some time, so I with you all fun playing the Hollow World.
[Aldones]
July 14th, 2004
Small fix to counter abusive behavious regarding recovery of HP/MANA/MV.
Beta roundpoints code instaled (not data is viewable to players yet).
July 14th, 2004
Remort 0 players now have a little extra, but not total, protection against
vampirism. In other words: they can see be infected by the original vector,
but not by other players.
July 11th, 2004
Desert Flu infection rate by the original vector reduced even more. This
should make the Desert Flu a rare desease. Lets hope people still remember
how to treat it. (Rate: 0.01%)
Player to player infection rate stays the same.
Reduced the vampirism infection rate by the original vector. We already have
an interesting number of infected players, and the vampirisms was ment to
get to epidemic proportions, once it is not properly a desease. This is
also done in preparation to the 5th phase of the code (yeah yeah, you
thought the 4th phase would be the last one. Well, you were wrong).
June 22th, 2004
Desert Flu infection rate reduced even more, to reflect the
immunologic changes on the players after such a long contact
with this desease.
June 18th, 2004
Vampirism is entering its second phase (Including some free bug fixes).
June 17th, 2004
Changes on the MEDITATE command to both improve consistency and to
counter abusive use by some players.
From now on, just staying offline for 1hr or more is not enough
to grant a full restoration. Other conditions should be met too.
Small changes on a few AURA effects.
June 12th, 2004
SCOUT command changed for Rangers.
Bug corrections.
October 13th, 2003
AFK no longer cancels MEDITATE (Reported by Anamir)
AUTOGOLD implemented. Credits go to the hundreds of players that asked
for it in the last 4 years. TURN OFF TRIGGERS THAT DO THIS. This kind
of trigger is from now on, FORBIDDEN.
Can't start following someone who is AFK. (Suggested by Mirakula)
October 12th, 2003
Fixing CLAN PUNISHMENT rank restriction.
October 12th, 2003
PLOG was using too much disk space. Disabled for now.
A buffer overflow on the code was fixed.
BIFH informs new clan leader command: CLAN PUNISHMENT
October 8th, 2003
Several bugfixes.
GEMOTE will no longer give a special message with the target is a mob. Too
much room for abuse.
October 5th, 2003
Some code changes. Nothing you should worry about.
August 16th, 2003
Players can't get corpses that still have anything inside it no more.
This change is necessary and was well thought about. Don't ask for
it to be changed to the way it was before. This will also apply
to mobs, so a mob will not pick a corpse up before it decompose.
Take 2: some small fixes.
August 13th, 2003
Several minor improvements and bugfixes.
Players are no longer able to use JUNK inside the arena.
July 28th, 2003
Fixed the "dragon eating equips" bug.
July 18th, 2003
Several bugfixes and ideas (from the IDEA command) implemented. Too many
for us to give individual credit to everyone that contributed. But
rest assured your contribution is appreciated.
July 15th, 2003
A new entropy-base random number generation code is now on. Of course,
not everything is using this code. Only important stuff like mazes
and random itens :) This code is pretty heavy.
July 15th, 2003
A new code was introduced, which allows mobs to have random inventories
on their dead corpses. These itens will not show until the mob is dead.
The good part is that this itens will have no restriction like 1 for
reboot and, once these itens are rare, they can be better. The worst
part is that these itens are rare :) This code is very new, so we
will be monitoring it. Only report bugs. No reports like "I can't
get any good item" or "Only XXXX get good items", please.
July 14th, 2003
+---> ATENTION <-------------------------------------------------------+
